When 70-year old white women flip off the police and tell them to fuck off repeatedly you know the cops are wrong.
I have been at about 90% of the protests since 2023. Never, ever, have the protesters been violent or threatening to anyone. Often there are families and old people - just about anyone from society at large. If and when there were problems it is almost always the Police or the Zionists who resort to violence.
On July 19, 2025 ( the first major protest since the implementation of the Bubble Law (for a ‘weak’ analysis click here) to stifle freedom of protest and speech, and to support Zionists. Eleven protesters were arrested. The police says that the march stopped and blocked intersections for too long and refused to move upon ordered to do so and that some protesters assaulted the police. Ha. Ridiculous - stopping in intersections have been part of the protests and this one was typical. But you need justifications, real or imagined, to act heavy-handedly - you know Poland invaded Germany WWII, Gulf of Tonkin Vietnam, Iraq had WMD, Iran is almost nuclear, the list is long… There were as many cops as there were protesters. The police presence was insane given they complain about lacking resources. There is money for Bubble Laws ($2 million) and a huge percentage of the city’s budget with a 4% increase for 2025 at $1.22 BILLION out of the city’s 18.8 billion. Sadly, many of us do not receive the help when needed - ‘we don’t have the resources’ - not making this up. But our taxes go up - one more way to finance Zionists and their genocide in Palestine by stifling human rights protests in Toronto.
What was different on this march however was that the police brought along its horse squadron and a number of police armed with CN/CS (tear gas) and perhaps bean-bag auto and single shot grenade launchers from the get go. Additionally, numerous members of the Fire Department in tactical gear trudged along just in case the CS canisters caused a fire - you can look up the TPS’s Use of Force Report dated 1998 here. Clearly TPS set out, from the beginning, to intimidate the marchers and had every intention of using violence against the peaceful protesters. In fact, the Police used a wedge formation to charge into the midst of the marchers to snatch protesters, knocking over anyone who was in their way (wedge formations are a military tactic). This was done without cause - I watched this unfold. There was no cause. Again, and to be absolutely clear - the TPS decided on this course of action without cause. Additionally, on officer took a picture of a sticky stuck on a City Bulletin Board that said ‘zionism equals racism equals fascism.’ I think the person was also arrested - not 100% certain. In comparison Zionist Robert Walker of pro-Israel Honest Reporting had graffited a neighbourhood with hateful tags such as FUCK GAZA. He was charged with 17 counts of mischief and his punishment? $1000 donation to the Sick Kids Hospital. It cost the city more to remove the tags. I wonder what the punishment would have been if it had been a pro-Palestinian supporter tagging Fuck Israel? For background on this hateful man and his pro-genocide organization see this video. His home was not raided in the early hours, nor was he violently arrested. Anti-Palestinian racism is perfectly fine in Toronto it seems, eh? Bear in mind that the police was violent in its arrests during this march - this was not a normal type of arrest but pure violence - charging in, knocking people over, and violently slamming their victims onto the ground, and, at least once, I saw an officer or two putting their knees on the back of the man on the ground.
As the march slowly picked up again and shook off the illegal arrests, the police started kettling the marchers onto the sidewalk which, of course, caused problems with other pedestrian traffic - the horse mounted detachment was on one side while other foot and heavily armed police officers forced the marchers into a small area. This was another attempt to enforce the will of the pro-genocidal mayor Olivia Chow, politicians like Dianne Saxe and Chrystia Freeland and Chief of Police Myron Demkiw onto the peaceful but now irritated marchers.
When 70-year old white women flip off the police and tell them to fuck off repeatedly you know the cops are wrong.
In fact, it is clear the Toronto Police has lost the respect of the majority of the population because of the way it handled the Queer community (never mind ignoring the serial killer targeting the gay community for years or the poor reputation of the CP of TPS Demkiw willing to violate human rights), the black and brown communities (BLM), and now the anti-genocide community with its heavy-handed approach and surveillance of the Palestinian Solidarity Movement - for an excellent account on this read The Breach’s article dated June 17, 2024 here.
TPS, KKK, IOF are all the same - those chants (IOF - Israeli Occupation Force) may sound extreme but we are clearly headed there. Too many Canadian law enforcement orgs are in bed with apartheid Israel - from ‘training’ to using software to spy on us and hack us…
There are some police officers who are professional in their conduct (thank you) but I have seen way too many who are agitated and should not be in the TPS or at least not in any situation that requires community interaction. Some seem simply overwhelmed or hateful and this usually stems from a lack of training and discipline and that always comes from poor leadership - from the Chief on down. I have witnessed on numerous occasions officers violently pushing people around that are simply walking, posing no threat whatsoever. And getting the officers to protect the marchers is beyond their orders. In one march a Zionist came to the edge of the protest, violently showed an older woman onto the ground and slapped another person’s phone out of their hands when recording the incident. It took 5-6 of us to yell at the officers to grab the man and to do their job - I doubt he was arrested. If one of us had done that to a Zionist we would have been on the ground, and left with bruises… I’m not making this up.
There are official news and TPS reports below the images - Superman is watching the genocide-supporters.
I have pasted the news report from CTV News of this protest below. And here is the link to the TPS News Release of the arrests. You can read their report below the CTV article as well.
Toronto police arrest 11 suspects after officers allegedly assaulted at downtown protest
Toronto police say officers were assaulted after they tried to clear a protest that was blocking a major downtown intersection on Saturday, leading to the arrests of 11 people.
In a news release, police said officers attended a demonstration at Spadina Avenue and Front Street West at approximately 4:24 p.m.
Officers issued a lawful direction for participants to clear the intersection and keep the demonstration moving, police said.
“Protesters refused and instead occupied an intersection, resulting in an unlawful assembly,” the news release read.
After police said that officers directed the group to disperse a second time, they said some participants became aggressive and assaulted officers while “resisting police efforts to restore order.”
Eleven suspects from the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area were charged. The suspects and the charges laid against them can be found here.
Police response ‘heavy handed’: advocacy group
In a statement issued following the news release from Toronto police, the advocacy group Legal Support Committee said officers at the demonstration moved in “aggressively” and began “snatching individuals from the crowd” without provocation.
“Toronto police’s response to pro-Palestine protests has always been heavy-handed and disproportionate,” criminal defence lawyer Arash Ghiassi said in the release.
The Legal Support Committee said Saturday’s protest was organized by the Palestinian Youth Movement. However, police did not comment on the nature of the protest in their news release.
In response to the allegations made by the group, a spokesperson for Toronto police said officers made “extensive efforts” to work with the protest organizers to keep the event safe and moving.
“However, protestors were uncooperative and repeatedly ignored police direction,” they said.
“Police acted to restore order when the group refused to clear intersections and engaged in aggressive behaviour, including obstructing and assaulting officers.”
The spokesperson said one officer sustained minor injuries, and the windshield of a police vehicle was cracked after being struck by a thrown object.
Toronto police arrest outstanding suspect wanted in alleged MP constituency office break-in
One of the suspects arrested Saturday, police said, was wanted in connection with an alleged break-in at a Toronto MP’s office in April.
Police previously said that on April 24, several people were holding a demonstration outside the office near Keele Street and Lawrence Avenue West before they forced their way inside.
Police did not identify the MP’s office where the demonstration took place.
The group allegedly occupied the area and caused staff members to fear for their safety, police said in a news release issued last week.
Officers were called to remove the protesters from the property.
During Saturday’s protest, police said they recognized a woman in attendance as an outstanding suspect in their investigation.
In addition to the four suspects previously charged in connection with the April 24 incident, 32-year-old Toronto resident Ahlam Mohammed was arrested and charged with forcible entry, mischief interfere with property, and unlawful assembly. It’s unclear if they are facing any charges following the Saturday protest.
Legal Support Committee has also taken issue with the charges laid in this case and said the allegation that the protesters forced their way into the office is false.
